Who am I?

I am a Nuclear Engineer (currently working as a Fiber Optics Engineer). I am the youngest of 7 kids and grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia. I moved to Wilmington, NC with my husband TJ in 2009 to work at GE Nuclear. We quickly fell in love with the beauty and people of Wilmington.

In 2015, I took a position with GE Aviation in England. TJ reluctantly agreed to move to England to allow me to pursue my dream of living internationally and traveling, as long as I promised to move back to Wilmington in two years. We had the opportunity to visit 18 countries while living in England. This was an amazing experience and furthered my love of diversity. I learned that we are all more alike than we are different. However, it also made me realize how much I love America and Wilmington! It is our own little piece of paradise.

After two years in England, we were so ready to come back to Wilmington that we moved back with no jobs secured. I worked various odd jobs for 2 months (including landscaping, cleaning houses, and shaking lemonade at the NC state fair). Thankfully, I was able to return to engineering with Corning where I work currently. However, I am also thankful for the experiences gained in my “side jobs” and the friends who provided them. I was raised with a strong work ethic and will work at whatever I am doing to the best of my ability.

I began to get interested in Politics in January 2020. My dad posted something on Facebook about dictators that had killed millions of people and I had never heard of half of them! I realized I was ignorant about this subject and needed to do something about it. I started reading and listening to History podcasts. When COVID-19 hit in March and George Floyd / Black Lives Matter hit in May my eyes were wide open. It was history repeating itself. Professor Timothy Snyder, a historian at Yale University explained that Hitler came to power by “exploiting a crisis” and by “undermining constitutional institutions or altering them by mixing them with his own racial institution."

Today’s “Crisis”:

  • COVID-19

  • Systemic Racism, Police Brutality, and "White Supremacy"

  • Global Warming

Today’s “Undermining Constitutional Institutions and new racial institutions”:

  • Forced small business and church shutdowns

  • Forced face coverings and vaccinations

  • Black Lives Matter and "Defund the Police" movement

  • Critical Race Theory and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion programs

  • Push for Equity (equal outcomes) over Equality (equal opportunity)

  • Rewriting history (e.g., 1619 project, removing statues, renaming schools and parks)

  • Censoring information that challenges mainstream narrative on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Amazon, Google, etc.

I believe a Marxist revolution is in process in America and I will not sit idly by! Conservatives have been silent for too long, under the guise of being “tolerant” and “nice”, while our liberties are stripped away. I am tolerant of diversity of opinion and freedom to worship (or not) in accordance with your beliefs. However, I will not tolerate trampling our constitution and giving up the freedoms which so many brave men and women gave their lives for. I will not tolerate racism in any form, and yes, Black Lives Matter and Critical Race Theory is racist! I will not tolerate forced shut downs of churches and forbidding people even to meet in their homes for Bible studies. I will not tolerate hatred or violence towards police (or anyone else).

I believe I was created for a purpose and “such a time as this”. I am called to be a servant and a light for the nations. The Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, and to proclaim LIBERTY to the captives (Isaiah 49, 61).

2020 and 2021 have shown us how quickly our jobs and ability to see friends and family can be stripped away. We must all get off the bench and get in the fight. America is the last free country on earth and it is worth fighting for.

It’s NOT about me, it’s about NHC!
